the hiatus is over

The last time I wrote I was 6 months pregnant. Now I'm mothering a six-month old, so I guess there is some kind of congruity to my timing. So much has happened over the past 10 months that I don't even know where to start.

My son (A) was born on October 30th, 2006. After 41 long weeks of being pregnant I finally got to meet the little guy and it really was love at first sight. Despite what people tell you, the labour and delivery were not all that bad; in fact, I managed to deliver his 7.5 pound body (after 36 hours in labour) without any drugs or interventions. Some say that I was lucky, but I like to take some credit for just being determined.

I've had a hard time figuring out what I want to "be" in life. I've floated from job to job and place to place without ever feeling like I found anything that fit me. Now, if I had my choice to be anything in this world I would chose to be A's mother. It is the greatest job.
